DOZENS of employers from a large range of business sectors will be offering hundreds of job opportunities in NSW and the ACT at this year’s Employment Expo.
An initiative of Centrelink, the expo will showcase jobs from industries as diverse as retail, health, construction and the public sector and is set to be the biggest expo of its kind so far.
Centrelink’s Bega manager, Mr Greg McManus, said anyone looking for work or even a career change could not afford to miss out on the expo.
“The expo will be offering full and part-time work, apprenticeships and skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities,” he said.
“Attending the expo is a great way to meet company representatives, gain insights into a career of your choice and gather valuable knowledge on the required skills and qualifications for specific occupations.”
Entry to the expo is free and people are encouraged to attend the expo with their resumes and dressed professionally.
“Everyone will be catered for and there will also be employers hoping to fill their positions on the day.
“It’s a great way to not only learn about the different options available to you, but to possibly walk away with a job at the end of the day.”
There will also be opportunities to speak to career counsellors, listen to motivational speakers, gather information on how to submit a winning application and improve interview skills.
The expo will be held at the Exhibition Park in Canberra tomorrow (Wednesday) from 9.30am to 8pm and on Thursday from 9.30am to 5pm.
