Robertson’s John Maugher reckons his daughter Leah did “bloody good” following the news she achieved a UAI of 99.
“I am very proud,” declared the first time HSC dad of his eldest.
“She worked hard, was very conscientious … she did bloody good.”
Leah, 17, said yesterday she doesn’t mind championing the merits of government schools, declaring her teachers at Bowral High “fantastic”.
“I would like to thank everyone, including Mr Cahill and Ms Shea for their support,” she said.
“Mum (Vicki) and dad were always there for me too.”
Leah phoned for her exam results and UAI on Monday and yesterday and said she didn’t expect to achieve one of the highest scores among Illawarra and Southern Highland students.
Leah was in the top 10 per cent in the state for 2 and 3 Unit Mathematics.
“A total surprise,” she said.
She will now apply for Law/Commerce at Wollongong University – but will first celebrate with her Bowral High mates.
